How Sponsorship Works
Overview
There are two ways to participate as a Sponsor in the hostanote service. Basic Sponsorship is immediate and allows you to become a sponsor at no cost. The only requirement is for you to register. All Sponsors begin with a Basic Sponsorship. The second way to participate, always at your option, is to purchase the Premium Upgrade which has a monthly fee and offers additional benefits.
Either way, when you begin as a Basic Sponsor you receive a banner which displays your name and includes a link, and a 'web button'.
The Banner
When you register as a sponsor, a banner is automatically created for you which will look something like this.
Your name will appear on one side in prominent type, while your co-sponsors name will appear less prominent, on the other. The exact format of this banner is the decision of the co-sponsor (in this example it's Blackstone) so yours may look slightly different. This banner will appear in front of each Album when it it viewed, and can include one link that you define, typically back to your existing website.
Web Button
Web Buttons are what you use to distribute the hostanote service. This button is usually placed on your website and always links back to the hostanote service. Web buttons are created automatically and contain a unique URL for each Sponsor. It is by choosing your button the hostanote service knows to add your banner in front of an Album.
There are several ready-made web buttons available for sponsors to use. Below is one example.
Buttons can also be pasted into emails, blogs, posted on forums or included on any web page.
The Result
From a single click on your web button, people can create professional looking Albums which include your banner, and it has not cost you anything.
As Albums are built and viewed, your name continues to spread. Everyone wins.
Premium Upgrade
As the hostanote service proves to be successful, results of which can be seen in your Sponsor Portal, it is Blackstone's hope that Sponsors will purchase the Premium Upgrade.
